I want to thank you for all your support, and also giving me such a wonderful mentor i.e. Lynn My life has changed ever since I have joined OCISO. Bruce really revamped my resume and ever since then I was getting more interview calls.
Maria called the employer and forwarded my resume and trained me for the interview. Maria & Bruce guided me in every way for the job search and interviews but apart from that they have given me so much of emotional and moral support which was so needed that I can't express in words.
Elwira really worked hard to get me a mentor in my field which was very important for me. After my interview my employer called my mentor and she just gave them such a good reference that they immediately wanted to hire me. Lynn also gave me very good interview tips, salary negotiation tips and gave me lots of new job postings. In the end when you have so many people backing you, success can't stay away for a long time.
I am really grateful to everybody. Thank you Tuula for putting together such a wonderful team. It feels like home with you all. Thank you to everybody. For all the great events you organize like the hike to the white forest. It is really nice that while doing our job search we get to enjoy and relax at times. We are new in the country so when somebody invites us for such events we are more than willing to come.

I got the official confirmation yesterday from -------------- that I am hired. They wanted me to access the Quebec Govt. program of wage subsidy for new comers who are having difficulty entering in their own field of work. Quebec Govt. pays the employer 30 weeks wages to help with training and integration of skills, which is really a nice program. They asked me to apply for this with a temporary address in Montreal. I went through the whole process for a week to find out that I don't qualify because I am still not a resident of Quebec and also since I worked in Ottawa in my related field, I wouldn't probably qualify for this program. But, anyway, they hiring me wasn't linked to me accessing this program. ------------------------------- wanted to make use of this opportunity from the Quebec Govt. for new comers.
I will be joining on Oct 22 with ------------------------- in Montreal as Senior Project Officer - Asia Regional Team. The salary will be 56,000 to start with as they will be putting me for French language training and some other training as well. I am happy that I am getting a regular job in my field and an opportunity to get known in this sector in Canada. This will be a wonderful opportunity to become bilingual for all of us.

I felt I am somebody and my future was promising, also this helped me keep a good condition. So When I got a interview opportunity, though my English was not good, I followed all your instruction. I am a volunteer with the Employment Mentoring Partnership project, run by the Ottawa Community Immigrant Services Organization. I am writing to express my support for the initiative, in particular, the Mentoring Partnership project.
This initiative combines mentoring and with various integration strategies that allow immigrant professionals to better understand the expectations of the Canadian labour market and thereby succeed in obtaining jobs that are commensurate with their education and international experience. Mentoring of immigrant professionals by their Canadian colleagues is an indispensable tool for achieving successful integration into the labour market and Canadian society. Advice provided by Canadian professionals on the art of resume writing, interview preparation and general understanding of the culture of the Canadian workplace allows immigrant professional to enter job competitions on an equal footing with native born Canadians.
Knowledge and understanding of the expectation of Canadian employers is not innate but is rather learned by experience; experience that recent immigrants do not have. Mentoring helps to bridge the experience gap that prevents many highly skilled recent immigrants from obtaining careers that meet their credentials.
I see firsthand the value of this program. Recent immigrants who have had the opportunity to work with a mentor are more confident and self-assured, look for jobs in their career field as opposed to taking low-pay, low-skill jobs and more quickly find rewarding careers. As such, I fully support the ongoing funding of this initiative as it is a valuable tool for the successful integration of immigrants into the Canadian labour market.

I want to wish you and the Staff of Integration Resource Canada a very Happy New Year 2008. Integration Resources Canada has given me a Christmas gift this December 2007 by helping me to find a job in my field which no other organization could do till now and they have failed miserably.
From when I have joined Integration Resources Canada my life has changed drastically. Integration Resources Canada had taught me the most important thing in a job search is to be positive, believe in yourself and keep smiling. I am very lucky that I could find the right people to help me. I have done my resume so many times from different organizations that I had given up doing it again, before I joined Integration Resources Canada. But ever since, Bruce you have redone my resume. I used to get at least 3 to 4 interview calls per week compared to 2 Interview calls per month before I joined Integration Resources Canada.
The next important step was preparing for the whole process which Maria you made sure by rehearsing with me interview skills so many times till I was perfectly prepared for interviews. Maria I am very grateful to you for the help you gave me.
Maria you have such a different approach to find people a job which is why Integration Resources Canada is so successful. I still remember when I approached you with the job description of the company I would like to work for, you simply called the employer on my behalf, told the employer about my background and to my surprise after one day I got the Interview Call and next day I got the job.
I Still remember the day before the interview, you had called me in the night at 10:00pm and took my interview again. No employment counselor has given me so much of their personal time to prepare me for a Interview in such a perfect way. Maria and Bruce thank you so much.
Apart from the all the job search and finding a job you have given me so much of moral support and help in every way. Every Immigrant coming to a foreign land needs people like you and the organization such as Integration Resources Canada to show them the right path towards a better future.
